He worked mainly on new business ventures and innovative product launches. His work involved building high performing teams across multiple cultures and departments and setting the overall business strategy. Alain excels at bridging the gap between R&D and Commercial functions.

Professional background

Alain Segers Alain began his career in 1992 with Baxter R&D Europe as Principal Scientist. Later he was active in several executive business roles and built various commercial organizations for Baxter, SangStat Medical (now Genzyme), and Gambro BCT (now Terumo). He supported the creation of Complix, a biopharmaceutical company, and served as their Head Business Development. Later he joined Cerus where he took on various senior commercial roles, most recently as Senior Director Global Marketing. In 2008 Alain founded a consultancy company active in the healthcare/ life science segment, serving clients worldwide with commercial support.

Education and qualifications

Alain holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the ‘Brussels Free University’ (VUB). He received additional training on “International Management” and in “Finance” at the ‘London Business School’.

Personal

Alain is based in Belgium and has worked in the United States and France. He conducts workshops in English, French and Dutch and has carried out assignments in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
